nausea and/or vomiting ? symptom for cerebrovascular insufficiency
Recently I have undertaken some labor intensive work at my residence. Temperature has been in the 30 degree range.During this week long activity I have been sweating profusely. Although I am 85, I do not appear to have any angina symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath even under such strenous activity.
We all know that mountain climbers often show signs of cerebral anoxia above certain elevations where hypoxia is common. These may include nausea and vomiting. In my view such symptoms which I exhibited sometimes not until the following morning, were signs of cerbro-vascular insufficiency are similar to angina and others related to cardiovascular insufficiency ,i.e. where the heart muscle experiences hypoxia.
I would recommend that clinicians include nausea with or without vomiting- and including delay periods as clinical signs of cerebrovascular insufficiency and potential warning signs of a stroke -just like dizziness, headaches, and other signs occurring with heavy work or other stress factors that are now also included as warning signs of impending strokes. I realize my study is testimonial and based on only one case. This testimonial also suggests that it is possible for patients to exhibit brain hypoxia without accompanying heart involvement.
