Just saw an announcement on TV reported by the Heart and Stroke Foundation that heart disease and stroke are the number one cause of death in women.
Earlier this year when I did an internet search I found that the number one cause of death for all age groups in Canada for both sexes was cancer. Who is correct ? Maybe both and its a matter of interpretation. I should review the vital statistics to see if they separated heart disease from other cardiovascular diseases like strokes. If they did this could increase cancer to No. 1. On the other hand if the Foundation grouped heart disease and strokes under cardiovascular disease which seems to be my interpretation of their report then it is No. 1. and not cancer.
