Vitilago a malfunction of melanocytes

Since vitilago occurs when melanocytes- the cells in the skin responsible for pigmention die or malfunction. , and since melanocytes are dervived embryologically from the neurocreast one can logically assume that vitilago is a disease of the nervous system. Could one then logically argue that melanoma is not a cancer of the skin but rather of the nervous system?
There is no cure for vitilago. Maybe if we knew its etiology it might help us treat not only this skin condition and melanomas but also some of the diseases of the nervous system - like senile dementia- currently ranking as the 4th major killer of women over the age of 85.
Treatments for vitiago detailed in Wikipedia involve the use of corticosteroid creams, nutrient supplements of B12 and folic acid, and for those who believe the etiology is autoimmune have combined immuomodulator creams with specific wave length UV radiation
Knowing the cause of this skin condition vitilago, might also help us in developing treatments for Alzheimer's and other diseases of the nervous system including melanomas..
