My Presentation @ April 2011 MUGS meeting

As you may know, I have been a longtime member of MUGS: Macintosh User Group for Seniors. In previous years, I have served on the curriculum planning committee, helping to suggest topics and arrange for speakers at our monthly meetings. I have also facilitated presentations myself.

At our March 2011 MUGS session, I was scheduled to give a talk on Creating a Website with MobileMe using my iMac 20-inch running OS 10.4, more commonly known as "Tiger". Unfortunately my computer crashed 2 days before the talk. I had to postpone the presentation until the April meeting.

On April 12, 2011, I arrived to present with my iMac 24-inch running the Snow Leopard OS. I think this was a better choice since this Mac has a built-in iSight webcam and iLife'09, a program that includes iPhoto for photos, iMovie for editing videos, iTunes and GarageBand for music and iWeb for creating websites.

I already have my own website which helped me in giving the presentation. I walked the participants through some of the Top Sites in my bookmarks and played the video "Publishing Your Website to MobileMe". I also promoted the benefits of MobileMe membership. With MobileMe, I can have a personalized website and 20GB of online storage (on iDisk) which my daughter in Toronto can access with a password.
