Mammography vs DNA Cytophotometry testing for Breast Cancer

The author ,Re: Best test available (Dec 14) made reference to an earlier letter by Dr. W.Gifford Jones (Dec 09) commenting that although mammography is not a perfect test " Mammography is the best test available at the present time, just like colonoscopies are the best test available for colon cancer and pap tests are the best available for cervical cancer."
As early as the 1960's scientists at the Department of Cancer Research in Saskatoon used a quantitative procedure called DNA Cytophotometry to diagnose cancer in breast tissues while other scientists at the Winnipeg Clinic Research Institute Laboratory used the same procedure for diagnosing cancer in exfoliated cells from the cervix prepared on smears as used for pap tests. Because the test is a quantitative one, it has the possibility of being automated, especially for exfoliated cervical cells .
Reference to these studies may be found in my blog and/or by doing an internet search.
