Unless we start using a minimum of 3 digits to identify our active sport players we will soon run out of the conventional 2 digital numbering system currently used for identifying sport celebrities, especially hockey where that number has already been reserved for former players that have these numbers reserved and posted on the walls of their sport arenas. It seems for some hockey franchises this has already occurred. The car registry solved this dilemma by combining alphabets with numbers.
This combination of alphabets with numbers could easily be done by the sporting franchises for their players. I recently saw a commercial with Sidney Crosby which seemed to promote this idea. So I guess my idea is not that original.
