Concussion issues

I understand that some companies are now making modifications to helmets to not only determine if a specific head injury has resulted in a concussion but also the severity of the concussion. Such gagdets would assist the trainer and/or doctor at the sports event to instantenously determine whether the athelete in question should return to the playing field. If the latter prognostic component is proven scientifically such gadgets would obviously have merit in the athelete's career.
What about the charges (penalties) against the person who caused the head injury? Could it also prove useful in any legal actions taken in such cases? In my view the sports authorities and the legal profession require closer communication to resolve this issue. If an athelete's career is ruined because of a head injury and concussion then the person causing this concussion should be similarily judged maybe even get gail time as in the case of some MVA.
It should be noted that although these gagjets may prove useful in predicting if a serious concussion has resulted, it would seem it does little for preventing concussions. I again refer the reader to my blogs on hydergine, where instead of a helmet the sports doctor might replce it with having all atheletes take this drug during their professional career- a scientific study which is waiting for the neuroscientist to undertake.
